Marsden Quarry petition (South Tyneside)
Campaigners have handed over a 1,000-name petition against plans to extend Marsden Quarry, near Whitburn, to Jarrow MP Stephen Hepburn. Owners Tilcon have applied to South Tyneside Council for permission to destroy the green belt by expanding the limestone quarry to the west of Lizard Lane.
