Big Red Eviction Alert (with flashing lights and knobs on!)

Ashton Court Anti Quarry Campaign

The head of leisure services at the Bristol City Council let us know yesterday that the Ashton Court Community Festival (apparently the biggest free festival in europe) has NOT been granted a license yet (even though it is only a month away), because of the presence of the protest camp on adjacent land.

It is clear that since we wont move away willingly they will either try to move us on legally or illegally (they have reserved the right to acknowledge the status of the section 6 on the site) so the festival can go ahead.

we argue that both can coexist, since both the festival, the park it is in, and the wildflower meadow we are trying to save are all there for the people. But they arent having any of that.

So if any fine people are venturing down this way for glastonbury or whatever and want to stick around to help set up defences etc, give support, lend some useful tat etc then that would be mighty fine (to say the least).

so go on, give us a call or come down in person!
