Subject: Gravel extraction in Hampshire

Chilling and Brownwich coastline under threat (Hampshire)

The local council is planning to decimate a huge area of Hampshire by extracting gravel from a field in Chilling which is on the waters edge at Warsash in Hampshire. The site until now has been a farm. The extraction is proposed to continue for twenty years mining hundreds of thousands of tones of gravel.

It is likely that the cliff will collapse and serious land erosion will be the result. Destroying the habitat of many wild animals and birds. The water table will also be disturbed, and there will be a permanent dust cloud over the entire area.

A protest group has been set up called CAMEL - Campaign Against Mineral Extraction and Landfill -

The local MP and everyone in the area is against the proposal, but councillors just seem to do as they please.

PLEASE HELP US TO GET THIS DESTRUCTION STOPPED
