Nine Ladies - camp anniversary party - 7/8th October 2000

Dear friend

This e-mail contains the text of a flier sent by supporters advertising a party to celebrate the anniversary of the camp. We hope to have the full flier (graphics and all) on the web site at http://www.nineladies.uklinux.net/ shortly. In the meantime we've stuck up just the text.

Enjoy the party, if you can make it!

1st Birthday Bash

A weekend extravaganza on the 7th and 8th of October

Featuring... Talks, walks, some devilish fun and (nights only) a fully unlicensed bar.

The Nine Ladies anti-quarry campaign has been using non-violent direct action to save 35 acres of Peak District National park Woodland. For the past year the campaign has prevented Stancliffe stone from illegally removing 2.39 million tonnes of grit stone, destroying a rich wildlife habitat.

The weekend of the 7th and 8th of October will be the 1st anniversary of the camp. We will be hosting a weekend of discussion on the history, current progress and the way forward for the campaign. There will also be a legal briefing followed by a mass non-violent direct action on the Sunday (including a site seeing tour of interesting local quarries).

N.B: (NIGHTS ONLY) - Derbyshire's finest self licensed bar, THE QUARRY MAN'S FACE will be open for your entertainment and pleasure.

Wish List

Wick, paraffin, candles, tarps, balast, cement, sand, OLD spark plugs, polyprop, scaffolding, polysteel, re-bar, boards, pallets, drain pipes, bow saws, axes, picks, shovels, screwdrivers, spanners...etc...batteries, vegan and non vegan food, the lead singer of the Bangles & Shane McGowan (for a naked lock on).
