[an approximate, fairly literal translation from the Portugese into English] "This Klangbilder is a piece with some complexity, both in interpretation and technically. Like many of the Klangbilser, it appears to be a simplicity that is only derived from the simplicity of the writing: melody and accompaniment and regular rhythmic figures. However, it proves difficult at a rhythmic level, ince there is a constant alternation between 3/4 and 4/4. This rhythmic instability creates an anacruse [an unstressed note at the star of the measure] which, if not well interpreted, can interfere with the playing of the phrases. It is a piece that requires a good mastery of the legato, since, several times, there are long notes in the accompaniment in which it is necessary to leave the finger(s) of the left hand, but without affecting the fluency of the melody." [from the notes accompanying the sheet music - Carlo Domeniconi] "Sound figures are a series of small musical pieces indicating forms which as well are to be found in more complex compositions. Therefore they are not to be understood as fragments or sketches but as 'Images' or 'Figures' preparing most efficiently - because of their shortness and technical facility - the later playing of more complex works." "...although the pieces are very easy to play, they demand a lot of control over dynamic and sound, so there is quite a lot to learn from this work." (Norbert Neunzling) The sheet music does not have a key but the piece is centered around A minor. The order of play is 1-10, 1-7, 11-14. === - length of note, duration (note held) + - jump to the Coda on repeat bpm - beats per minute Coda - the end section of a piece |---- ----| repeat the section |---- ----| |*--- ---*| |*--- ---*| |---- ----| |---- ----| ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ the latest version of this tab can be found at http://www.classtab.org if you come across any mistakes please let me know - weed@wussu.com
