[an approximate English translation from the Portugese] "The rhythm resembles that of the Minuetto, in which the balance and phrasing appear to be quite intuitive. The first part, which works as an introduction, has to a beginner an interesting fingering problem: whether to play the open strings which is easier, or play a regular pattern using the same fingers higher up the strings which is less obvious. Another thing to note is the change of pace towards the end of the 2nd part (the initial tempo is not given, but presumably it should contrast with the later tempo) where there is a Rallentando which requires a choice of how much the piece should slow down." [from the notes accompanying the sheet music - Carlo Domeniconi] "Sound figures are a series of small musical pieces indicating forms which as well are to be found in more complex compositions. Therefore they are not to be understood as fragments or sketches but as "Images" or "Figures" preparing most efficiently - because of their shortness and technical facility - the later playing of more complex works." "...although the pieces are very easy to play, they demand a lot of control over dynamic and sound, so there is quite a lot to learn from this work." (Norbert Neunzling) The sheet music does not have a key signature. The piece is centered around Em. The tempo of the Norbert Neunzling vid and the MIDI is 88 bpm (quarter notes). === - duration (note held) > > > = crescendo - becoming gradually louder bpm - beats per minute C2 - barre on the 2nd fret mf - mezzoforte - moderately loud f - forte - loud p - piano - soft rall. - Rallentando - slowing down and becoming softer |--- ---| repeat the section |--- ---| |*-- --*| |*-- --*| |--- ---| |--- ---| ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ the latest version of this tab can be found at http://www.classtab.org if you come across any mistakes please let me know - weed@wussu.com
