is it possible to get through to a human operator? [June 2006] - (see update of December 2007) maybe i've been unlucky in trying to contact them at exceptionally busy times, but even so there's no excuse for the annoying content and lack of continuity in their pre-recorded messages having waited all day in vain for a non-delivery which i needed urgently, i phoned the Parcelforce extended hours number to try and talk to someone about it - after twenty minutes of listening over fifty times to an ad telling me what a wonderful service they provide to their customers, a new message interrupted the cycle apologising for not being able to connect me and saying that i was being switched to a call centre where i'd be able to speak with someone... after various clicks & burps, a different ad started up, once more spouting the virtues of Parcel Force - after a while the voice stopped and it was announced that the number i'd been directed to was only available during standard working hours - doh! and to add injury to insult, all this was on an 0870 number! update [12 December 2007] i've just received an email from Dick Stead, the new Sales and Marketing Director of ParcelForce, to say that they are currently investing in new technology, and are hoping to move all the enquiry lines to an 0845 number next year and that they intend to drive call wait times down by at least 90% |
