a surfeit of spam, bad links and wrong information but i'm leaving the bad links and wrong info aside (cos it's a lot to deal with, and life is short) [2006] before you can even report an incorrect link to Classic FM or point out a problem with their content, they demand your postcode and your gender, presumably so they can target their spam -- once you've given them your personal info the junk mail starts -- the unsubscribe link on their mailouts leads to an unsubscribe page, and on unsubscribing it returns "page not found" i've been trying to unsubscribe for months now, and i'm still getting spam from them -- i've also contacted them via their "comments about the web site" form, telling them about the fault with their unsubscribe page and requesting to be removed from all their mailing lists -- but the spam keeps flowing SO BE WARNED - IF YOU DON'T WANT ENDLESS SPAM FROM CLASSIC FM, DO NOT FILL IN THEIR CONTACT FORM this behaviour is typical of greedy companies and organisations who think a website is just another way to rip people off -- they still haven't realised that web sites are for the benefit of their visitors, and not just for the purpose of harvesting addresses for spamming -- asking for an excess of intrusive unverifyable personal information before allowing visitors to comment and offer much needed help and advice (such as pointing out their bad links) is both a waste of time and a clear indication that the company doesn't have a clue -- using the personal info supplied for junk mail purposes confirms that Classic FM is a crap company [slighly off topic, tho relevant to me, i'm particularly incensed by any site whose forms are designed exclusively for people with two or more names -- ok, i know this probably doesn't affect you personally, but think about it from my point of view -- why should i have to change my legal name just because someone demands that i have two names before they'll allow me to talk to them (let alone buy anything) -- as for all this "Mr" or "Mrs" business, my name is "Weed", nothing more, nothing less -- and if they can't handle it, then as far as i'm concerned they're the enemy!] |
