Nuke-just don't do it! 9th August 1997

As part of a series on international actions, taking place on August 9th (Nagaski Day) to remember the horror and devistation caused by the use of nuclear weapons in Hiroshima and Nagasaki and to protest against the existence and continued proliferation of nuclear weapons globally. Youth CND will be having an action at Aldermaston, near Reading (nearest train station Newbury, approx 2 miles) on 9th August. Aldermaston is the place where the nuclear bombs for Trident, Britain's submarine launched nuclear "deterrent", are assembled. It's the begining of the nuclear chain that leads up to Faslane, near Coulport in Scotland where the Trident submarines are based.

There will be a camp for anyone who wants to from Thursday 7th -Sunday 10th August - bring your own camping stuff. Workshops and discussions on NVDA, nukes and what we can do about it

Demos are also happening in France, Germany, the Netherlands, the US and Scotland (Faslane) on the same day.

There will be more info, flyers etc soon.
