Subject: [saveswallowswood] Meeting about the PI and Critical Mass Bike Ride

Swallows Wood meeting - 21st August 2007

Dear Supporter,

In addition to the nature walk on Sunday 19th (see we've a meeting coming up that you might be interested in. We've asked several people who regularly attended the first weeks of the Public Inquiry to come and tell us about their experience so far and share information with others in the group. With so many things going on (as usual) the organisation for this is a bit last minute, but please come along if you can. Details below along with information about the first ever Critical Mass Glossop planned for September!



When - Tuesday 21st August 2007, 7.00pm - 9.30pm

Where - Mottram Community Centre (link to google maps -

What - The purpose of the meeting is primarily to share information about proceeding to date and discuss the programme going forward (what's involved, what will happen when) and answer (if we can) any questions you may have.

Who should attend - Anyone interested in the Inquiry proceedings.

The agenda is as follows -

7.00pm - arrival, refreshments
7.15pm - introductions - who is everyone, what is their interest, tell me one thing about your life that will change if a bypass is built
7.45pm - Key presentations - 3 people* who have been at PI full time to give 15 minute presentations on how they felt it has gone so far
8.45pm - post it note session; everyone invited to add comments to a board about the public enquiry, how they felt it has gone, anecdotes, opportunities missed and BREAK
9.00pm - General discussion drawing on post it note feedback (facilitated by Jonathan)
9.30pm - Thanks and goodbye

Tea, coffee & biscuits provided



This event has been organised by the newly formed "Road Alert Glossop". The plan is for Glossop's first ever Critical Mass bike ride from Glossop to Tintwistle (and back). This will take place on Friday 14th September, meeting at 5.30pm. See their website on MySpace for details -
