Traffic for London forecast 60-65,000 trips per day on the bridge & show an increase in traffic volumes on many local roads including KNEE HILL, BRAMPTON RD, LONG LANE, AVENUE RD, MAYPLACE RD, TOWNLEY RD etc.

Forecast increase in LGV's on many roads including -

Long Lane - 9%
Arnsberg Way - 15%
Woolwich Rd - 14%
King Harolds Way - 13%
Mayplace Road - 21%

Traffic & Transport Report (Table 4.13) shows a forecast increase of 116 accidents per year, which will include +1 fatality & +6 serious.

THINK ABOUT THE CONSEQUENCES OF TRAFFIC TRAVELLING FROM THE BRIDGE TO THE A2 & VICE VERSA?

A BRIDGE THAT HAS SIX LANES & FORECASTS OF 20 MILLION VEHICLES PER YEAR. (THE TRAFFIC MODELS SHOW THAT NOT ALL OF THIS TRAFFIC WILL GO ON TO THE A2016)

THAMES GATEWAY BRIDGE (TGB) - 4/11/04

The Action Group Against the Bridge have to date collected in excess of 600 signed objection letters & petition signatures totalling more than 300. We continue to receive letters on a daily basis by post, delivered by hand or from petitions set up in local shops.

We are planning to demonstrate against the planning application for the TGB outside the BEXLEY CIVIC OFFICES, BEXLEYHEATH on the night of the Planning Control Committee meeting THURSDAY 11TH NOVEMBER from 6 PM. The meeting is due to begin at 7.30 PM. Free parking should be available in nearby car parks after 6 pm.

Despite being told that all individual objections received by Wednesday 3rd November would be notified of the meeting on the 11th November in advance, we believe that this may now not be the case.

Objections will continue to be counted until the afternoon of the meeting on the 11th November & these numbers will be included in a document (addendum) produced for the meeting.

PLEASE ATTEND THE DEMONSTRATION & MEETING TO SHOW YOUR OPPOSITION TO THE BRIDGE.

Numbers are what count. Thank you for your support.
