protest campaign stops Tarmac quarries at Bestwood (Notts)
After 3 years of fighting, the 'No Tarmac Quarries At Bestwood' campaign has stopped the company getting planning permission for two quarries between Bestwood Village and Bestwood Country Park in Nottingham. Tarmac have handed the land over to the Country Park, increasing its size by a third.
