Blackwood Bypass (South Wales) - help needed urgently

Dear Friends,

Work is starting on the Blackwood Bypass in South Wales. This will destroy the last of the ancient Ebbw Forest, as well as important wildlife habitats.

For more information, read this: http://www.woodland-trust.org.uk/whatnew/press83.htm

Protests have been made every step of the way, with petitions, attending council meetings, flyers etc. But bulldozers and diggers moved in on tuesday to create around 250 boreholes and trailpits around the site and carry out "soil investigations", ahead of the project starting.

We urgently need help, both with publicity and people in the trees. A website should be up in the next couple of days, but in the meantime would you please pass this on to any parties who may be able to help, or email us with advice -

blackwood_protest@yahoo.co.uk.

Again, this is urgent, we need to get a camp started right away.

Thanks

Al   (on behalf of the St.Davids Wood Campaign)
